Jesus Rincon Car Accident – Obituary Pennsylvania: In Loving Memory Of Clayton Man Killed In Interstate 81 Accident

Authorities in Luzerne County are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Clayton resident early Friday morning along Interstate 81 North in Hazle Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police in Hazleton, the incident occurred around 6:41 a.m. on May 22, 2026, near mile marker 140.3 close to the Schuylkill County line. Investigators said 58-year-old Jesus Montell Rincon was operating a 2024 Volvo tractor-trailer that had become disabled on the shoulder of the highway.

Police reported that Rincon was outside the disabled tractor-trailer when a northbound 2008 Toyota Camry left the roadway and entered the shoulder, striking him. Emergency crews responded to the scene and attempted lifesaving measures, but Rincon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the driver of the Toyota as a 22-year-old man from Hampton. Officials said the driver was not injured and declined medical treatment following the crash.

The sudden loss has left Rincon’s family, friends, and community mourning a man remembered for his hardworking nature and strong presence in the lives of those around him. Loved ones continue to share memories, condolences, and prayers as they grieve the tragic loss.
