Paul J. Napoli, a distinguished trial attorney, devoted husband, loving father, and respected advocate for justice, has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, integrity, and unwavering service to others. His death has deeply saddened family, friends, colleagues, clients, and communities across the United States who benefited from his tireless pursuit of justice.

For more than 30 years, Napoli dedicated his legal career to representing victims of environmental disasters, public health crises, and mass tort litigation. He became nationally recognized for his work on behalf of 9/11 first responders, communities affected by the Flint water crisis, victims of the opioid epidemic, and those impacted by PFAS contamination. His leadership helped secure billions of dollars in settlements while holding powerful corporations and institutions accountable.

Beyond his remarkable legal achievements, Paul was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from his wife and children. Those closest to him remember him as a compassionate husband, proud father, trusted mentor, and loyal friend who always made time to support others. Whether in the courtroom or at home, he lived by the belief that kindness, courage, and service should guide every decision.

Napoli earned degrees from Fordham University, St. John’s University School of Law, and Lewis & Clark Law School, building a career that earned widespread respect throughout the legal profession. He also served on the Board of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and helped establish the Environmental Justice Laboratory at NYU School of Law, reflecting his lifelong commitment to public service.

His passing has prompted an outpouring of heartfelt tributes celebrating not only his legal accomplishments but also his generosity, humility, and dedication to improving the lives of others.

Visitation will be held at The Fairchild Chapel in Manhasset on Tuesday, July 7, from 2–5 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset on Wednesday, July 8, at 10:15 a.m.

Paul J. Napoli will be remembered as an exceptional attorney, devoted family man, and compassionate leader whose legacy will continue to inspire generations. May he rest in peace.
