RIDGEFIELD, Conn. — A Connecticut community is mourning the loss of 17-year-old Max Fehring, a rising senior at Immaculate High School in Danbury, who died in a tragic crash Saturday morning at his family’s Ridgefield home.
According to the Ridgefield Police Department, the fatal incident occurred at approximately 8:40 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, in the driveway of the Fehring family’s residence on Wilton Road West. Officers responded to the scene and found Max Fehring critically injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash, and the incident remains under investigation.
The news of Fehring’s passing has sent shockwaves through the Immaculate High School community, where classmates, faculty, and staff gathered Monday to honor his life during a memorial service held in the school’s chapel.
In a letter shared with the school community, Head of School Wendy Neil described the overwhelming turnout, noting that the chapel was filled beyond capacity as students and staff came together to grieve the loss of one of their own.
“Although the chapel could not hold everyone whose lives he touched, it was evident that Max’s impact on our community was profound,” Neil wrote.
