SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. — Authorities in Scott County are investigating the death of a Sikeston woman whose body was discovered along a rural roadway early Saturday morning in a case officials have classified as suspicious.
The victim has been identified as Kali Hasty, 35, of Sikeston.
According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, emergency responders were dispatched during the early morning hours of Saturday, July 25, after a person reported finding a body on the shoulder of County Highway 529, just outside Sikeston. Despite the response from emergency personnel, Hasty was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have not publicly disclosed the circumstances surrounding her death, but officials have confirmed that the case is being treated as suspicious. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the nature of the investigation as detectives continue working to determine what led to Hasty’s death.
Given the complexity of the case, the Scott County Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance from the Major Case Squad.
