A massive murder investigation is officially underway in West London after a midnight stabbing left one man dead and another wounded. Local detectives are working around the clock to piece together the violent events.
The slain victim has been identified as 26-year-old Gurbhej Singh. He suffered a catastrophic knife wound during the sudden confrontation. Despite the frantic efforts of emergency medical staff, Gurbhej died right there on the sidewalk.
Officers quickly launched a dragnet and arrested seven men directly at the crime scene. The detained individuals ranged in age from their early 20s to their late 30s. Every single one of them was booked on suspicion of murder.
After conducting intense initial interviews, detectives released six of the men with no further action. However, the seventh suspect remains a major person of interest. Authorities granted him bail but ordered him to return for deeper questioning at a later date.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell is leading the Specialist Crime Command team on this case. Investigators believe Gurbhej was targeted while standing at the corner of North Road and Dormers Wells Lane. The exact motive behind the knife attack is still a total mystery.
Police are now making an urgent public appeal for any available security footage or eyewitness accounts. They want anyone who was in the neighborhood during the midnight hour to come forward immediately. The search for answers continues as a grieving family demands justice for their son.
