According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the collision involved a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 181 and a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling southbound. Investigators reported that the driver of the Jeep lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the oncoming lane, and collided with the Tahoe.
April Marie Green, 40, of Poth, Texas, was driving the Tahoe and was its sole occupant. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Jeep was occupied by three individuals from San Antonio. Fernando Espinoza, 23, who was driving the Jeep, and front-seat passenger Abigail Lynn Espinoza, 25, both died at the scene as a result of the collision. Rear-seat passenger Eleora Marie Espinoza, 18, was transported to a San Antonio hospital for emergency medical treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
