LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An 18-year-old New Philadelphia resident has died after a two-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County on Sunday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred at approximately 7:53 p.m. on June 28 at the intersection of County Road 103 (North Orchard Road) and Township Road 1277 (Northwood Avenue) in Lawrence Township.
Investigators said Ridge Reichman was driving a 2021 Nissan Altima northbound on County Road 103 when the vehicle entered the intersection and collided with an eastbound Ram 1500 traveling on Township Road 1277.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and provided medical treatment before Reichman was transported to Mercy Hospital. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders and hospital staff, he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Ram 1500 has not been publicly identified, and authorities have not released information regarding that individual’s condition.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. Officials have not announced whether any charges are anticipated or whether additional factors contributed to the crash.
