The community is mourning the death of Bryce Wolfe, a 20-year-old motorcyclist from Luzerne County who was killed in a tragic hit-and-run crash on Kelly Drive late Wednesday night. Authorities are searching for the driver involved in the collision that claimed the life of the young Temple University student.
According to police, Wolfe was riding his red motorcycle near Kelly Drive and Reservoir Drive around 11 p.m. on June 24 when a white SUV traveling in the opposite direction attempted to make a turn. Investigators said the vehicle swerved and struck Wolfe, leaving him trapped underneath the SUV.
Authorities said the SUV continued traveling for about a mile before Wolfe’s body became dislodged near Fountain Green Drive. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Wolfe’s family is now seeking answers as they grieve the loss of a young man they described as intelligent, hardworking, and full of promise. His mother, Lori, remembered him as one of the most driven and successful 20-year-olds she knew, saying his life was taken far too soon.
His parents, Lori and Clarence Wolfe, said they are struggling without knowing the full details surrounding the crash. They are asking anyone with information about the incident or the vehicle involved to come forward.
Bryce Wolfe was entering his third year at Temple University, where he studied actuarial science. Family members said he was also completing an internship, teaching motorcycle safety, including training members of the police department, and was a loving son and brother to his family.
Authorities continue to investigate the fatal hit-and-run crash and are asking witnesses or anyone who may have information about the white SUV involved to contact police.
