BEDFORD PARK, Ill. — Four teenagers were killed in a devastating overnight crash after the vehicle they were traveling in left a bridge and overturned in Bedford Park during an incident involving Illinois State Police.
The crash occurred in the early morning hours of July 26, 2026, in the 6900 block of South Cicero Avenue. According to authorities, the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control, causing it to crash through a barrier and plunge off the bridge before overturning.
All four occupants of the vehicle died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Officials identified the victims as 19-year-old Cristofer Lopez Montan, 18-year-old Yuarem Garcia-Pena, 17-year-old Yaritza Martinez Villeda, and 14-year-old Vanessa Morales.
Illinois State Police said the crash occurred during an incident involving troopers. Authorities have not released additional details about the events leading up to the collision but confirmed that speed was a factor in the crash.
