The community of Saint-Paulin, Quebec, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Alicia Berneche, a 14-year-old girl who tragically passed away after sustaining critical injuries in a devastating multi-vehicle collision in the Mauricie region. The tragic crash occurred on Friday morning along Rang des Douze-Terres in Saint-Paulin. According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 7:15 a.m. after a vehicle attempting a left turn was struck by an oncoming vehicle. Alicia was a passenger in the second vehicle and suffered life-threatening injuries in the violent impact.
Investigators said a third vehicle, unable to avoid the wreckage from the initial collision, then struck the second vehicle, resulting in a chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles. The driver of the third vehicle sustained minor injuries.
