BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Bridgeport police are investigating the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Leon Richardson, whose death on July 27, 2026, has left family, friends, and members of the community mourning the loss of a young man whose life ended far too soon.
According to authorities, officers responded to Catherine Street between Washington Avenue and Harral Avenue on the evening of July 27 after multiple 911 callers reported hearing gunfire and seeing a person bleeding inside a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they located Richardson in the driver’s seat of a Honda suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency responders attempted to assist him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
