PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a three-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday on eastbound Interstate 10, resulting in at least one reported injury and prompting the temporary closure of a portion of the freeway.
According to authorities, the collision occurred near milepost 141, in the area of 35th Avenue, during the day on Sunday. Emergency responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene following reports of a serious traffic accident involving three vehicles.
Video captured by Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) traffic cameras during the response showed emergency crews working to extricate at least one individual from a vehicle. The person was subsequently placed on a stretcher and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Officials have not released details regarding the severity of the injuries sustained, and the condition of the injured individual has not been made public. It also remains unclear whether additional occupants of the involved vehicles suffered injuries.
As emergency personnel worked at the scene, eastbound Interstate 10 was closed at 43rd Avenue, allowing investigators to document the crash scene and enabling crews to safely remove damaged vehicles and debris from the roadway.
The temporary freeway closure caused traffic delays in the area, with motorists advised to seek alternate routes while first responders conducted their operations.
