DEPTFORD, N.J. — Two 22-year-old Pennsylvania women, including social media influencer Ayzia J. Toledo, known online as Ayzia J, were killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night on Route 55 in Gloucester County, according to the New Jersey State Police.
State troopers responded to the crash at approximately 10:55 p.m. on July 5 after receiving reports of a serious collision on the southbound lanes of Route 55, just north of Exit 56A (Route 47) in Deptford.
According to investigators, Toledo, of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was driving a BMW southbound when she lost directional control of the vehicle. Police said the car veered off the roadway to the left, overturned, and struck a tree.
Toledo and her front-seat passenger, Henrietta F. Carter, 22, of Darby, Pennsylvania, suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third passenger, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The New Jersey State Police said the crash remains under active investigation. Officials have not released additional details regarding what may have caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. According to the National Weather Service, rain was falling in the area at the time of the crash, though investigators have not said whether weather conditions played a role.
Toledo had built a significant online presence as a content creator, model, and television personality, amassing more than 300,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok. She was widely recognized for posting lifestyle content, fashion, beauty, and travel videos, attracting a loyal audience through her engaging personality and creative content.
Her Instagram profile identified her as a television personality, content creator, and model. Just days before the crash, on July 2, Toledo shared what would become one of her final social media posts—a promotional video for the fashion brand Shein.
News of her death has prompted an outpouring of grief across social media, where followers, fellow creators, and friends have shared tributes remembering her vibrant spirit, creativity, and positive influence. Many described her as a rising digital creator whose authenticity and energy resonated with thousands of people online.
Friends and loved ones are also mourning the loss of Henrietta Carter, whose sudden death has left family and members of her community devastated. Tributes have continued to pour in for both young women as those who knew them remember their lives and extend condolences to their families.
